ASIST: Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training Course
Presented by Communities Addressing Suicide Together, the ASIST workshop is for caregivers who want to feel more comfortable, confident and competent in helping to prevent the immediate risk of suicide. Over one million caregivers have participated in this two-day, highly interactive, practical, practice-oriented workshop.

Second Annual Bowl-a-Thon to “Strike Out Stigma”
The Halifax-Dartmouth Branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) is delighted to invite you to its Second Annual Bowl-a-Thon to “Strike Out Stigma” and support the branch and the work it does in our community.
Register a team (5 players per team), or join an existing one. The Registration Fee is $10.00 per person and each participant will receive a pledge sheet. ALL proceeds from this event will support the social and recreational programs CMHA-Halifax-Dartmouth provides to its members and the wider community.
There will also be a draw for two “Wellness Baskets”. Each basket contains a variety of products and services that have been donated from local businesses that promote health and wellness in our community.

Fourth Annual Road to Recovery Walk
In support of families as partners in mental health care, the Schizophrenia Society of Nova Scotia (SSNS) will be hosting its 4th Annual Road to Recovery Walk. The goal of the walk is to raise $50,000 to fund the extensive work being done by the SSNS to help individuals and families affected by schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders.
